I’m very sorry about your girl, I have no experience with any of this but hope the Educators can help her.

I have to ask, WTH is wrong with your neighbors that their kids would do this??! It just blows my mind. I hope she will be OK.

I don't know, they used to like to just have Delta Dawn go over and visit, never did anything wrong to her. Their Momma is somewhat a pill hound and she will just go on and try some crash pill thing then throw them. I'm guessing at how, but their momma probably either did not put those pills away, or put them our kerb side and so the kids rummaged and then thought they were making chicken feed or something. Lucky i do get out of here soon. They will not play again with my hen, and that woman their mother can pay my bills for getting this mess cleaned up (hen imbalance) or I will be suing. What if those kids had even decided hey what i will eat some of those damn pills too? This dang town I'm good to be going. Lord make it a lot faster.

I would sue as well. And, the parent(s) could be cited for allowing their children to poison an animal. The bad thing is the chicken went over there so they'd say it's partially your fault, but it's not like the chicken ate a poisonous flower she had...her kids basically enticed and poisoned it. Child protection should also be involved due to the fact that her kids have done this, meaning they have access to pills. What else do they have access to?

She was doing a lil better then traveling vet gave her tramadol and i thought she was dead. Collapsed. Breathing getting stronger! PLEASE how to revive?

Trying B1, caffeine and honey made into paste, placing anywhere she got some bare skin, comb too

My goodness, Tramadol? That doesn’t seem to be something helpful. I would hope that it wears off soon, and you can get her drinking and eating once again. B complex is okay to use 1/4 tablet daily, and is pretty mild. But I would not let the vet throw more drugs at her. Sometimes the best treatment is conservative, and let the overdosed medicine flush out of her system while keeping her hydrated. Chickens cannot tolerate a lot of drugs.

She vet was out of her mind and that is what i get to help me. That and 4 other failure vets and now i sue. We go nuclear on this. This aint right.

Help me! 5 vets didn't, 5 didn't know a thing or 5 vets just did not care, includiung traveling Betty who gave tramadol to my already compromised hen telling me "oh it's safer than other things it won't do anytyhing except ease pain." Sure about that? It is a CNS depressant and you would not put any human right who was having trouble breathing by giving a CNS depressant. Who is giving these lunatics a piece of paper to go out into the world and kill people's pets?

Well. I just about lost everything now. Exceptin a whole lot of bile ion my guts that I am going to weaponize on those lunatics who each took a turn trying to do my hen serious harm. What a evil weird world right now.

It won’t bring her back, but that family that allowed the kids to OD your pet need to pay every cent of every vet bill. Take them to Small Claims Court if necessary.

I’m so very very sorry for your loss. You’ve been through a lot with Delta Dawn. No doubt she had a wonderful, long life with you.

I hope in time, I hope that you’ll be able to look back at pictures and memories of your hen and find comfort in them.

It can be very tough to find a vet that knows how to treat poultry, unfortunately. It doesn’t help that they’re such a poorly treated species. It’s very frustrating when they mean so much to us. I wish there were more resources out there for them.

Low down on those 5 vets okay.

Vet 1: did not treat my hen's salpingitis just gave her an implant. The heck?? No pain relief, no anti biotics.

Vet 2. said she had metabolic problems. Truth? vitamin D deficiency so she wasnt moving her calcium right and had a huge ectopic store. Before I left the office I have three witnesses saying he had already driven out the drive and onto the main road outa there.

Vet 3. Said one of Delta's eyes was paler due to "iron deficiency." When I said get real and get on the planet, unilateral hypochromia is a sign of vitamin A getting weird, she did not know what to do. Then gave my hen three antibiotics to use all at once including something like Baytril that then caused my Delta to get torticullis, twisiting her neck and ticking. I had to intervene for 3 days with thiamine to bring her out of it.

Vet 4. I said she has had a OD! Help! they call me back later "oh she got a unknown mass in her stomach." Hens got stomachs now? Then the grift "we could get a whole overview of her body if you pay $5000 for a CT scan." Oh is that so? Clear and present danger is a OD dont ya thnink? what are you going to do for that? When I said that, I guess it's easier to pretend offended than to start thinking, they then went into performative victim mode and said "Don't make a scene." Really? So asking why you're grifitng me is to make a scene? What do you call it when you are negligent and threaten my hen's life?

Vet 5. Gives a 24 hour loading dose of fluids to my hen. And expected her not to then go into cardiac arrest or develop congestion on the heart or lungs. Then gave her tramadol just to make sure she would never see Delta again.

Oh vet 6. "Will you give something to reverse this tramadol? My hen aint even conscious now." "Oh well now that shot was 6 hours ago," then kindly told me the time. So I replied "Yeah? and my hen's systems are allshut down, liver too, and so you better get to reversing that tramadol since in her condition even after 6 hours there will be 80 per cent of the dose in her system."

You see? Delta Dawn, baby girl, you kept me sane, you loved me and I you. I learned so much from you and all your sounds and love will move through me the rest of my days.... You were too good for a world that didn't care and never knew how. With love... Goodbye my small angel,m my companion. I am sorry i could not turn back all that they did wrong to you...
