Hello,

Our oldest chicks will be 5 months old at the end of July. I've read this is about the time they start laying. When is a good time to start with the calcium supplement?

Thanks

The end of July is more than a month away. When your girls will start laying depends on there breed partly. Oyster shell available in a separate dish is good, they won't eat it until they need it.

I wouldn't switch to layer feed (if you are) until seeing your first egg. I prefer flock raiser or all flock for slightly higher protein content with ouster shell on the side.
