I bought a used older R-Com 20 and set it up for a couple of days to let it stabilize. I ordered a combo Humidity/Thermometer from Strombergs to check the accuracy of the incubator. I found the temperature was pretty good but this humidity is WAY out. Is seems to understate humidity by 30% or more. Can I trust this humidity reading and do I just recalibrate the R-Com to match? Is there a better way to nail down the humidity? Seems like once the R-Com is calibrated it will hold it perfectly.

Thanks for your help!

I would get a hold of someone who sells them and see if they can help you reset to factory settings. I'm new at this, only been incubating for 5 years, but I wouldn't trust anything - I had a Brinsea full of Duck eggs and it was reading 99.5 temp and it ended up being 90 and I lost them all. I do have to say that I sent it back to Brinsea and they reset and did some stuff at no charge and returned it to me and it works perfectly now. It is very difficult to find a good hygrometer though. I just ordered a Caliber III from a cigar company, but it didn't get here until today, so I didn't get to use it. I've heard people say good things about it and also some negative things. Good Luck!!!
