I just looked at your pics again Twyla, and Picasso really filled out. Is he older than Angelo?

No, Angelo and Picasso are the same age, Picasso seems to be a larger bird which makes me guess that my mottled roo; Wizard is his daddy. Monet is Angelo's daddy and it took him a while to mature and fill out.

Anyone interested in a side swap of calico eggs for either PayPal or something on my swap? Trying to get eggs lined up for the NYD hatchalong that I have been wanting for a long time lol...NYD is my excuse to my husband that I need more breeds lol!

finally got some pictures of my 5 month old cochin kids, I am pretty sure I have a trio of calico and a single MF hen (Carmine) as one pullet has the black tipped feathers on her breast while the others are more white w/ touches of color

thanks, she got that name because she was always the first one to jump out of the coop in the morning- she would burst out all fluttering and what-not, just to be the first one to hit the ground and see what treats were to be had.

They are gorgeous! That roo is really great! I wish I could produce one that color and have some pattern like he does!
And I, too, love the name Kabluey! I had to read it a few times to make sure I was accenting it correctly. LOL And then I wondered if it was because of her coloring but it doesn't look like anything went all kabluey on her.

these are from Roslyn Pickens breeding. I hope to get some more from other breeders to work with to create my own line. As for Kabluey, nothing is "wrong" with her (well she does have some reddish-orange bleed through in her hackles), its just she just was always the first one to jump out to say hi in the morning, and she was rather explosive in her enthusiasm to do so when she was very little.

here is a picture (bad one) from when they were 3 weeks old (the black one found a new home)... they started out dark and got lighter as they got older



this was around 5 or 6 weeks if I remember correctly...
