I have some shipped eggs from Indiana that were advertised as "Pure Bev Davis BCMs" hatching right now. I bought a dozen eggs with little hope of success but couldn't help myself..... I thought there were due tomorrow but notice this morning that one was pipping........Well there are 7 little fuzzy babies in the hatching tray right now & it looks like a nother couple may pip too. I can't believe it.........There were a few really dark eggs & some lighter & nicely spotted. I am sooooooooooo pleasantly surprised...!!!!!!!!

2 more this morning.....9 of 12 Yipee!!!!!!!!

yes! what bator? congrats!

Well the BCM hatch is over & I ended up with 10 chicks from 12 eggs. My egg topsy found one egg still yolk & 1 egg with a fully formed chick with a dime sized yolk sack. I am so happy with this hatch & will write to the breeder & thank him.
These BCM eggs were hatched in my Brinsea Ova190. Set in the hatcher trqay for the first few days after the rest period when they arrived. Then moved to the middle turning shelf til lockdown. The hmidity was set for 50% til lockdown then moved up to 55% for those last few days. I tend to put them in lockdown late.
Hey lady haven't some of your Buffs hatched yet?? I thought some went inot lockdown awhile back?????? I know the newest ones have a ways to go but I thought you had others going.

NO.......you did not!!!!!! What did you buy girlie?????? Something I don't have?????....LOL

I am spoiled I guess. I tried rigging up an old Little Giant I have had for years to load my overflow eggs from my own breeds. My hatch was poor..............Every EE egg hatched good & strong, several Delawares came out with no problem but no Australorps & the only 2 Marans I got were shrink wrapped & I had to help them out. Does anyone else have problems with Marans getting out of their outer thick membrane???? There was no blood & the membrane had just stuck to the top of them. They had sat there pipped for 24 hours. I kept adding water to up the humidity. I think if I have the Big incubator full I will not fill this one again.....LOL

Today is due date for my son's Yokohamas to hatch & so far 2 are out. The first one hatched yesterday & I woke up to the second one this morning. I see no other pips but am hopeful. These are shipped eggs of course..................The first time I tried I got 3. They are now outside in the growing area & are 1 cockerel & 2 pullets all Red Shouldered from Birdaholic. The second batch was 1 hatched out of 12 eggs & the chick is doing well & about a month old.The breeder replaced the eggs after the terrible hatch & this is the hatch on those eggs. Her packing was great in foam with holes drilled out in it for each egg & then covered with another layer of foam (kind of looked like upholstery foam & cut to fit the entire box.
