ha ha.  i know that was what I had on hand.  i realized how much cheaper it was to ship with my own leftover boxes. my PO never has the standard priority boxes of the right size.  how do you do the postage? do you have to have a scale? would love to save money and be able to do it at home!    yeah, i sent extras because fertility has dropped in a lot of my breeds.  noticed it first with jubilees.  hope they develop for you!! let me know how it goes.

USPS will drop of boxes at your house for free. You can set up shipping through you PayPal at a savings... you will need a small scale. It's so worth it...Molly

Order the boxes and tape online from the po. Since you are shipping expensive eggs you double box I would get a few types. Regional rate a and b and reg priority mail and the sm med and large reg priority mail and the med and large flat rate priority boxes. I have a kitchen scale up to 3 lbs I got for weighing kittens when I had bottle babies. If you use reg priority boxes you will want weight. If you use flat rate you don't need it.

You go to a variety of websites. I just sent USPS.com. stamps.com let's you print with no postage showing up. If you have crusty customers thats wort it. You create an account, put in the address its going to , put in a weight ( doesn't need to be accurate if you are doing regional rate but they don't show as options unless you put weight in )

You pick your box, put in automatic tracking,(also free) tell it the email of the customer if they want automatic updates, request pick up if you want it, put in you cc# print your liable.

You save10% off all shipping and it will tell you what type of shipping is cheaper. Its fast easy and can save time.

Oh and the boxes from the po take 2-3 weeks so order before you run out. On my box a RR a would have been 5.25 or so.9 or so to the east coast. It does 9 to 11 eggs .

Deb is gonna try and hatch some white empordanesa eggs for me. she showed me the pic and they look nice . Medium terra cotta brown it appears. she said they look darker in person though not near as dark as her Maran eggs.
Monday my friend is shipping me another dozen. Ron gave me a good idea on the car adapter for the bator if I need it just in case we move.
We are scheduled to close on the 17th but sign on the 15th....

My crele penedesenca are now 7 1/2 months and still no eggs

My big Orps didnt lay until about 31 weeks old!

Our local feed store uses pellets for pellet stoves, instead of Dry Den in the stock tanks with the chicks. They say the wood pellets are cheaper and don't have anything added to them but I really like the Dry Den though. The first few days I cover them with the non-slip shelf paper for travel trailers, I worry about them slipping on the pellets at first. I've never had a problem with spraddle leg using the pellets, I think it helps strengthen their legs.

I've wondered how this works! They are def a lot cheaper. I wonder if they are as compostable? I have a bedding poop pile in my yard that is fermenting right now and I know dry den and PDZ is totally compostible.
