Hello rooster!

Awesome looking Pozole!

I made Carnitas and after it all cooled down, the fat in the pot was better than the meat.

I almost toasted a slice of the sourdough bread I made today and used the fat as butter....Instead I ate an apple and drank a cup of green tea.

Hello rooster!

My three fluffy friends are on their way to Redding. They had some type of mind control going on. Each time I fed them, they somehow made it out and onto my hand....Then time passed without me realizing what was going on.

Beautiful Silkies(or sizzles?)

Ok talk to me. A Silkie = a tiny puff ball of angora like fur. A frizzle = crazy feathered chicken. A sizzle is a silkie x frizzle? I am trying to understand the 3 and their differences. :D

Thanks!

Aww, lucky zooweemama!

Mine are silkies. I love them but I only ended up with one pullet so the other two have to go. She will be so lonely on the floor all by herself when I move her into the big girl coop, won't she?

Thank you! I don't seem very sickly on the internet, eh?

It's a bummer I've seen people think they're being criticized (when the other person was just trying to be helpful) and leave! Yikes.

With chickens that get along so well like mine do I have to remember that not all breeds are like that. The other pen of little pullets was not nice to the pretty RIR Pullet that jumped the fence yesterday! She is huge compared to them too. Of course, Partridge Pennes are not that friendly either.

It is very hard to communicate via text.

Liz9910, I hope to have some Langshan chicks available by summer. My flock is all young. Some of the girls are approaching POL but the boys have more maturing to do before we put them together in breeding pens. What color/colors are you interested in? Jim Heinz (mrheinz77) is in Iowa and raises black Langshans. I have a couple of his boys and they are beautiful. Mikaela (rodriguezpoultry) is in Pennsylvania and raises blue, black, splash and white. I don't think that she ships chicks, only eggs and her birds are on winter break right now. I have several birds from her line. There are also a couple gentlemen in Tennessee, I think, who breed Langshans and ship both eggs and chicks. They are Pawhead Poultry and Skyline Poultry. I also have birds from their line (Meeks line). I planned on only raising BBS but I have a white pair that my husband loves. I'm thinking about adding whites to the list because they are too beautiful to eat.

I have an eclectic backyard flock but the Langshans are my favorites. I have a friend who has 10 acres in Brentwood and we are planning on setting up breeding pens this spring for the Langshans and Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks.
Hi wow sounds awesome, last time I sent you a message you only had trios available, but where I am I can only have hens (bummer!!!)
