Thank you for letting us know! This group is so busy, I have a hard time keeping up!
Cheryl, I hope the new treatment plan is successful! I know what chronic pain is like. Having hope in a promising treatment can help you fight through until the treatment.
I just got my first order of S&P feed, and I think I love it! Have to see how the chooks do on it, but it smells fresh. I love that it is not milled as finely as the Maggill Ranch.
This! Good luck for all you with sick babies. And happy birthday chooklit. I think I have a stomach something. Its not pretty around here ...

Chickens are usually pretty good at knowing what is bad for them. Mine ate the tomatoes but would not touch the leaves. Its not terrible. But icky.
I went down to the silkies and was letting them out and they all went for ivy like starving things. I put them back in because I didn't remember if it was good for them.
Anyone know? I was putting in a little run down there till the end of the month when they can go back into silkieland but there is no way to keep ivy out of it. Of course if its OK for them it will be gone in a week,ha.
Quote: I wouldn't give them too much credit................I remember last year SuperChemicalGirl posting about how her chickens ate all the sytrofoam board off her foundation of her house, literally every speck!![]()
Alfalfa cubes are basically chopped hay, they will expand when wet. We used to buy them for my son's rabbits in 75# bags. You can also buy extruded alfafa pellets, those are way bigger than typical chicken pellets and would probably epand even easier. For that matter, you could supplement with rabbit pellets for the combo of hay/grain.

I even give mine potato peels if they are not green. No Problem yet.My chickens eat ivy and tomato leaves and I haven't lost one to poisoning yet. They eat almost everything green that they can reach. They have even cleared my yard of some pesky ice plant that was taking over the far back corner. At least they are earning part of their keep by keeping the ivy and ice plant under control! They sure aren't giving me eggs right now!
