Thanks!Good luck !
Me too I'm so excited!
Petrock I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Animal illness is just so not fun. When I saw Samson yesterday standing with his neck hanging off to the side and drooling my heart hurt so bad. The wound on his neck is large and infected. Caught too late. He hid it well, very well.

I marked the eggs and shoved them under Betty. I'm not sure when I can get over to Jeff's although he offered. Is there anyway I can remove them later and run them over if needed? On the upside- with the delay it would be easier to tell what chicks are hers.
I do have some concerns with Betty's broody ability though. She is dedicated but the eggs are all over the place under her. Some are under her, some on the outer skirts somewhat chilled...I want to trust her lol...
I'd say Pullet. The male chicks start getting black feathers by this age.
Beautiful Flock! My chickens got a treat today. Alfalfa hay was on sale, so I bought a bale. Each coop got a flake. This is my large coop with my barnevelder flock. My wellies are in another coop - they didn't get their picture taken because they are more "picky" to things out of the ordinary. There are a few cull wellies in this picture though that will soon be going to live with a friend. My barnevelder rooster was all excited calling to the girls - he'd better enjoy it now, because he is soon to be replaced by the cockerel in the back.![]()
