Feeling really blue today........today it has been 6 months since my husband passed away, oh why does life have to suck so bad?
Hi Liz,

I am really sorry to hear you lost your husband. That must have been and still is very difficult. Ill be thinking of you today and hope tomorrow is better.

I think I'm safe in "borrowing" this picture from my friend Mary. These are my wellie babies that she hatched for me while we were out of town. #5 just hatched last night, so it's not pictured yet. From markings (not 100%) it looks like 2-3 are pullets and 1 looks like a cockerel.

I love Welsummer chicks. They are so darn cute.

Liz,
Sorry you are feeling down today, certain days are harder. What seems to help me get through the really tough days is knowing next year it won't be as bad. Sending hugs and lots of good thoughts your way.

OOOO!

I am going to see if my oldest DD wants to make this!

They are really good made with almost any type of citrus. Made them with oranges and gave them away for Christmas gifts this year. Hubby realized that we didn't have enough to keep any for ourselves so he went to the store and got even more. I think the second batch lasted about four weeks before it was all gone. Great for gluten free and dairy free diets. Sugar free, not so much. :D

OK I started with 12 cups of peel I'll see how it goes.

I was doing the first blanch and heard a turkey out the front. Stuffing had followed the laying girls over the front fence! They find holes and sneak into the easement and around. Stuffing just went right over. The dog has decided chickens are like cats. If they are outside where they should be he can run at them. He got them all back in about 20 seconds. Except for the Icelandic Lucy who went up to the roof. She's a crazy flier.

I tried to get pictures but she was running everywhere. Madness! Icelandics! Sparta!

So far this week it has been lemonaid, lemon caper potatoes, lemon potato salad, these fine peels, 2 1.5 l bottles of plain juice, and one of ginger infused juice, and lemon curd!

Don't ask me how many ways I cooked pork tenderloin this week.
