If anyone has had experience dealing with chicken wounds, I'd appreciate your advise here.

Kelly, did you ever get any help for him? Poor guy! My first thought when I saw the pic was also foxtail, but it's an odd time of year for that. I wish that I knew what to do for him. Your birds are beautiful and I am following your progress with them. I wish you the best!

ha! I found some interesting stuff on chow hound on the best breed for every preparation of chicken.

Do you have a link for that article? No luck with googling it. It will be interesting to see if the Bresse live up to their reputation. I was going to say that I can't believe Ron is getting Bresse - but that would be silly- of course Ron is getting some!

I hope they hatch, and I hope they are girls. I know how hard Jason has been working on his lines.

Best way to ship eggs? I need to ship 15 duck eggs. I want to ship them properly. It will take me 2 days to get the 15. Best day to ship? I will collect the eggs the day before and the day I am going to ship. There is a lot of info all over- I just don't know the best method. Thanks guys!

Bubble wrap with the ends open. place them in the box with the big end up. You can use shredded paper or bubble wrap around the outside. You can also put foam pads on the bottom and top of the box. Double boxing with either foam nuggets or shredded paper around the first box too but that will make it all heavier and cost more to ship. Priority mail to make sure the shipment gets to the destination when the Post Office is open: Monday to Wed. Sometimes Thursday works so that the box makes it by Saturday.

Hit up a Pharmacy to see if they will give you free bubble wrap.

See, I am learning too....
