California - Northern

I swapped for some cayuga eggs from a SQ line.
Thank you, Kim. She is having surgery on Valentine's Day. I guess no one else wanted surgery on that day so they were able to get her in earlier than would normally have been possible. She has opted for major surgery rather than just a lumpectomy so the reconstruction process will take a year. It was a tough decision for her. I can't imagine having to make that kind of decision. I admire her so much!

She is in my prayers. That was a brave choice she made, and probably the best choice. Cancer touches so many lives. I am always hopeful that they will find a cure someday. As it is, the treatments for it have improved tremendously in the last few years.
My husband is recovering from kidney cancer, and doing great.

OMG!!!! I got my first Blue Copper Marans egg! I think the color is pretty impressive! What do you think? Yipeeee! Oh and found a broodies nest and a broody in the laying boxes!!!!!!

Nice color - and nice shape, too! Marans eggs are supposed to have that nice round shape.

A pure BUFF ORP! Yay! I forgot I left a buff egg under her lol. Two for Betty!

I was about to say "good girl, Betty!" - but then I saw the next pic...

Here is a close up.
i took the other chick from Betty. I don't think Betty wanted her. She would tuck the black one under but this one she didn't seem to let hide under her like the black one.

Oh, thats too bad. Veterycin would be great, like Ron said. If the swelling continues to keep her from closing the eye, maybe you can put an opthalmic ointment in it, or artificial tears - just something to keep it from drying out?
