Hi Ron,

Thanks for the pictures, MD posted some overhead shots of his on the EO thread. They look pinched to me from the side shots but not in the overheads.

I'm waiting for an email from Skyline about availability, I would really like to have a broody hatch them since I'm only at a 50% hatch rate in the LG.

Redriver, those barnies are just to cute!

Petrock, hope you see continued improvement with treatments. I've been so lucky with my birds.

Bigdaddysmom, best of luck with the hatch timing! I'm trying the same thing here but on the 5th of April. At least the kids are young enough not to keep you up all night.

I'm sure there is alot more I missed, everyone stay warm and dry-wind is howling here.
The last picture is of the one that went broody in the Fall.

If Skyline does not get back to you, juststruttin in Novato has them too. She ships using the Skyline method and the OEs hatching eggs she mailed to me hatched very well.

Yes, The EO Marraduna are true Dual Purpose, so they are wide and the boys are a lot bigger than the girls. I am not saying that the girls are small LOL.

My Heritage Rhode Island Red (HRIR) hatching eggs from Ron Fogel are Pipping! There were two pips this morning, right on schedule according to:

http://homesteadapps.com/app/free/hatchchart/hatchturnscheentry.php

It is always exciting when the eggs hatch.....

Man did I just have a long drawn out hatch!! I had chicks hatch on day 20 through day 23

I attribute it to the power failure and egg cool down for that hour. The last chick had to be helped out and was in rough shape but is just fine this morning

All the chicks posted lately are so cute! Such a variety of colors and looks.

Cool capavalleychick. I would love to see your farm sometime. What are you raising besides chickens?
I have a list in my signature line... all heritage breed cattle, sheep, pigs... and extra virgin olive oil.

Great Job!

Temperature spikes and drops do cause problems. That is the main reason that Cabinet and plastic incubators do much better for hatching. The Foam ones just can keep up with changing temps In the place where the Incubator is kept. Then there are power outages....

Makes the chicks use too much energy to stay alive and then they do not have enough to absorb the yolk and hatch.
