Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I went to the store and got hooks, so the ramp is installed. Once I put one Barnie in the run, everyone else came out on their own within a minute. I'm sure I'll have to toss them all inside once it gets dark, though.

Question for you. What does leg color have to do with egg color? I have a wheaton EE (or possibly pure Ameraucana) that has tannish legs. Looks pretty much identical to the ones Hangtown Farms (Jason?) just posted, except for the legs. That hen's legs were very greenish. Does that mean her eggs are green?

Thanks!
how old are yours? Mine are turning slate. I got those from Candy and are a cross of 2 ameraucana varieties.
I know with ameraucana's though it can take quite a few weeks for the legs to turn so maybe yours have not.
with easter eggers and olive eggers look for pea combs for your best chance

Your chickens are so pretty. I have an EE that looks just like your white/goldish ones. Love her! Sunday works, any time after 12:30 (church), so whenever is good for you.

I should be here all day.
The blue one is getting rehomed. the lighter ones came from Candy and are a wheaten x buff ameraucana cross I think
or may even be wheaten x blue wheaten but I am not sure

Welcome! No spare incubators but I do have extra space in the classic humid air if you get desperate.

Getting started is always hard. On one hand I looked around and saw all the really nice, hand-built incubators and just salivated for a while. Then I turned around and bought a nice cheap foam incubator with egg turner for 80$. It all works the same, really. The digital ones are only nice because they can keep a constant temp and humidity. I admit I just did my first hatch a few weeks ago and ... well....lets just say it didn't turn out well....out of 40 only 8 hatched and 2 of them died. But I now know I made a few mistakes that I will not repeat. So it was a good learning experience. I've got just 3 turkey eggs in there now ( I was supposed to have 12 but my egg source had a bit of problem with her dogs getting to the eggs!) so I'm hoping that goes well. I've got someone who's going to give me some Serama eggs to try out, although I KNOW those are hard to do. But hey, she's got a small flock that lays VERY well for her so I figure why not? If I can get a decent amount to hatch it would make it worth it.

Anyway, your best bet is to take your time and search the 'net for good deals.
