What is your schedual like? I have Thursday off work this week, but I would have to bring my littles with me. I also have off Sundays.

Zoo! do you incubate your ducklits at chicken humidity?
Someone wants me to try duck eggs and I don't know if they are normal. ( someone also might have sent me duck eggs, I got these HUGE white slightly see through eggs in a swap that a e unmarked.. but have a suspiciously duckie look...)

Yeah! The coop is 99% done!

Chicks are officially out of the brooder and garage! Only things left to do are to hang the chicken ramp (already made, just needs hooks), blocking in front of the nest box and main coop door to keep the shavings in, and perches for the run. The Caribbean blue/green trim color was just what we had left over, but we will probably change it to the same red that we have on our house windows. Also need to make a bigger waterer and PVC feeder. Right now they are still using their mason jars from the brooder.

Jason, you currently have 6 OE, 2 Emp and another Emp pip. The other 6 Emps are just taunting me

ALL 16 of my chicks arrived nice and healthy!! I'm so happy! No pasting up, they're all eating, drinking, running around, and peeping!

Here was the free exotic chick that they included(ordered from Murray McMurray). Anyone know what he/she might be? We were thinking maybe Silver Polish(it looks like it has a poofy head and will be crested?) but we're not sure. What do you guys think?

Yes! Chooks chicks says she incubates every thing the same way--dry hatch of course.

Sorry, I just had to answer.... I have now incubated Ducks twice and tonight I have Guinea Keats hatching.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I went to the store and got hooks, so the ramp is installed. Once I put one Barnie in the run, everyone else came out on their own within a minute. I'm sure I'll have to toss them all inside once it gets dark, though.

Question for you. What does leg color have to do with egg color? I have a wheaton EE (or possibly pure Ameraucana) that has tannish legs. Looks pretty much identical to the ones Hangtown Farms (Jason?) just posted, except for the legs. That hen's legs were very greenish. Does that mean her eggs are green?

It's the pea comb the is associated with the blue egg gene. Legs not so much.
