oh Ron, they looks so sweet!
gooble gooble,
I would love to let some Guineas live off the land and keep the ticks away
My Grandma had them--the eggs were really good too. These will be heading off to Winters tomorrow.

I think because they hang out in the manzanita up here. Ticks love manzanitai've been curious about this for a while -- why are guineas thought of as being so much better at eating ticks than other birds? wouldn't they all want to eat a fat little bug if they found it?
What are crele pene? A lot of the not cal ppl have them are they a special breed?Jason,
I just hatched 9 of your Crele Pene eggs. I am soooo excited!!!! I will get pictures once they dry out and I know the boy/girl ratio. Yipppeeee. Thanks for the awesome eggs!!!
I think so. I have had bad luck getting turkeys to pip. even in a brinsea cabinet and not shipped eggs. YMMVSo are turkey eggs harder to hatch than chicken?
I met the lady who bought the BLRW chicks today, she was thrilled they were past the "baby stage" at three weeks. She asked me about Bourbon Red turkeys. She said she would buy all I hatched. Having only hatched a few times not sure what I might be getting myself into.
San Jose, But we go up there for the September wine thing and a few times a year, if it was not so hot id move there! Thanks are you near Lodi
Change those towles once every day or so, they are poop machines.Anyone?(btw - just looked at the sand and apparantly I was wrong, it's waaayyy smaller than their food)
Maybe with the way they are built they can reach the ticks better, the noise gets me more than anything else.I think because they hang out in the manzanita up here. Ticks love manzanita

Since I'm still doing things the hard way in a still air LG I think I'll past on that thought! I would have to have the eggs shipped and a primitive incubator sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.I think so.
