Unless you have some cool ninja fan I have never heard of you leave it on. Its moves the air around so nothing fries.
Cool Ninja Fan!

It is a kinda cool fan. I has a blue light on it, so I can see the eggs without a flashlight. I got it for the ice chest incubator I was (am) making. I had it all put together, except for the thermostat. I've had a heck of a time finding one that would work for an incubator from a store. When ever I go and ask for help and tell them what I'm making they talk to me like I'm stupid and I don't know what I'm doing -- so frustrating!! So I gave up on that for now, and I put the fan in my Hovabator. These are the eggs from Jason (Hangtown Farms), so excited for them to hatch!! I saw both of the little blue ones wiggling, so hopefully I will get a little pair of OE's.

He my old desk top has a fan like that. I like colors so it was a must have for my computer at the time.

In case someone is looking for a flock of quality bantam buff Brahmas, I am selling my rooster and 4 hens. Rooster is Darlene Hobb's line and the 4 hens are from a trio purchased directly from John Neff. These 5 BBBs are 1 year olds and my pick birds out of 8 roosters and 8 hens. I have an ad for them here on BYC in the 8 weeks and older for sale section. Very calm and great layers. Proven breeders with high fertility.

Gosh they are pretty. I would love some Brahma's, But I can't get any more chickens until I get myself all set up. I also think in might be too hot here in Roseville. They have the French legs going on there. (all hairy ya know) They look full of feathers and may get too hot here. I am a little worried about the Orps I hatched now. I don't plan ahead too well sometimes.

It gets pretty hot here in Grass Valley (not as hot as Roseville) and I use misters for all my breeds when it gets over 85 degrees. They work great and the birds learn quick to stand near them to cool off. You might want to get some for your birds

So, some of you may remember that my (I'm the aide) first grade class set eggs three weeks ago, today. We had a heck of a time with the temperatures in the borrowed incubator in the beginning. Thought we had fried them. Finally got it figured out and it held steady for a couple weeks. Then, on Thursday morning we came in and saw that the temps were down to 94, and had apparently been that way all night. Decided to let them warm back up and then candled them after school. Yeah! They were still alive.

Today, right on schedule, we had our first pip! One of the kids actually noticed it before any of the adults. Sometime in the late afternoon/evening it hatched. The teacher went back this evening and it was mostly dry. Two more have pipped, so we'll hopefully have more popping out tomorrow. Next year the teacher knows to set them on a Tuesday or Wednesday instead of a Friday!

I got to poke my head in all the other classes that were hatching chicks today. I never understood what you guys were talking about when you said e brooder was stinky. OMG! There was one that smelled like rotten fish from a couple feet away. Made me glad I had scrubbed out the base of ours when I took the turner out in preparation for lockdown.
