Have to vent for a minute:
So I won eggs from a BYC member on the 24 hour auction. The auction ended on Sunday at 7:30. Her post said she needed immediate payment because she was shipping the eggs on Monday. So, I waited until Monday afternoon, and (after I hadn't heard from her) sent her a PM asking if I'd won the auction, and if she could send me her payment info. She responded with the info, and told me she would ship the eggs Tuesday. She's only in Oregon, so I have been waiting to get the eggs. So today I get an email from paypal letting me know that she was "shipping the eggs". Looked it up, and she hasn't even sent them yet, only printed the label. Really?!?!? You'd think she would at least let me know!!

I might just be cranky, because of the heat and all that... I don't want the eggs to sit in the PO over the weekend.

I like shipping saturdays best followed By Monday and tuesday. Saturday eggs always arrive on Mondays. Thursday Friday shipping is the worst. Hopefully they start collecting more eggs and ship on a better day

Imagining there may be a few smarter goldfish makes me feel better about adding them to the pond. 8 of the first 15 added last week came swimming up to bump against the clear bag during the adjustment period. I gave them a hearty pep-talk when I released the new ones from their plastic bag. "Go! Go! Don't all hang around in one spot! Get to know each other deeper! You want to raise families, don't you!"

Let's just say I hope "those with survival instincts" will be able to find safe haven in their two "goldfish house" half-pot edifices.

I just ordered the standard egg turner for the R-com
the universal trey was not gonna work well. I can get 20 eggs in with the standard turner as opossed to 18 in the uni try

So my BCM is broody and has had some eggs under her for about 4 days. Well now I noticed one of my black sex links has plucked all her feathers off her underside and is trying to sit too?! I thought these factory birds didn't go broody? Well anyhow I thought it was funny when I picked her up to get the eggs and I grabbed just skin under her haha

Gosh, this thread moves so fast that by the time I gather all the quates the conversation has moved on!

Love the idea of put the misters on a timer. So far my gang has been ok but I'm gone all day so what do I know? It must not be too bad, I've had two broodies join their broodie sis. They're all from the same hen, who has never gone broodie but boy do her girls. I opened the lid on the laying box to collect eggs and needless to say, there were no uncovered eggs and a lot of bwaaackin! We'll see who sticks of the two new girls. I'm thinking the other one is due in about a week. Dang, I knew I should have written it down! I don't know why I thought I'd remember!!!

Question on the R-com. I thought those that purchase this incubator were buying it over a equally pricey unit like the Brinsea because it held more eggs, but I'm seeing there is under a two dozen capacity. I am disappointed that I can only get 2 dozen in mine. Those of you who chose the R-com, why? What other brands did you look at and why did you choose R-com?
