I have quite a few BC marans growing out, so I'm sure I could come up with something. I also may have some spare blue marans (not blue copper).Does anyone here in nor cal have Black/Blue copper marans for sale?
Great! My EE's, and RIR's may start next month sometime. They are 14weeks now, my Plymouths are 16 weeks. My jerseys will take longer even though they too are 14 weeks, (all hatchery birds). My Australorps are young only 12 weeks. I love the information given here. You are all so appreciated by newbies. Thank you!Bresse and the Blue Egg layers start the same time as the Red Stars. 18 to 20 weeks. Australops start at 22 to 25 weeks. Wellsummers? When they are good and ready.....![]()

I'm located in the foothills east of Sacramento.
I have French black copper marans and I am in San Jose. Are you looking for eggs or chicks?
The Photo Bombing splash looks like a pullet as do the other regular chickens. At 11 weeks, you should start seeing hackle and saddle feathers. Yours all look very clean and lady like in regards to hackle and saddle feathers. So just for fun on a lazy-ish Sunday afternoon that I didn't have to spend in bed with the stomach flu like last Sunday, I thought I would go get a couple of pictures of the chickens. Everyone seems to like to look at chickens on here for some reason.
Feel free to chime in on if you think any of them might be boys. I rehomed 4 boys today and I have one left that I just couldn't part with yet. Actually they were all kind of hard to part with.......![]()
These guys are all 11 weeks old. (I inserted small pictures since I did so many)
My mom is confused by me, she doesn't know exactly what I am and all of the sudden my comb is turning red, but it isn't very big and neither are my wattles.
I am just sexy. Look no wattles....
Sorry me again, mom is a dork and didn't upload the pictures in order.
Still me...... just trying to give you sexing guessers some profile pics.
Mom says the sunlight in this picture makes me look skinny. Aren't I pretty though?
I am a Black Orp (obviously) and I do have some wattles and comb but they aren't very big. At least not compared to some of the other 11 week olds my mom has compared me too. Do you think I am a boy? Sorry for the shoe ruining my picture. I like to peck at it really hard along with any exposed skin.
Do I still look like a boy?
My mother is a really big dork. I am the same splash unknown chicken as the rest of the pictures here.. Just giving you sexers perspective is all.
lol Yes that is called the chicken doing the plucking. Every freckle I have is a bug though. I hate wearing shorts in the run. Some are quite persistent in catching the "bug" too.The Photo Bombing splash looks like a pullet as do the other regular chickens. At 11 weeks, you should start seeing hackle and saddle feathers. The Polish I can't help you with at all.
My chickens all want to eat my ring. Luckily they do not want to remove the hair from my fingers. That would kind of hurt.![]()
I'm not far from Sacramento, as far as marans I'm looking for some girls (no more than 3-5) and a cock. How much would you sell for?
Quote: I'll have to look through the pen. They are from my exhibition birds, but there are always birds that don't make the grade for the show table. I'm just getting finished up to leave for the CA State Fair and will be down there all week. I'll have to get back with you when I get home, so probably not until Saturday. Could you send me a PM? Then I can't possibly miss getting back with you.
Thanks,
Deb
