I tried breaking her already.  After she squished the babies in the shells, I broke her.  She laid for a week, then started sitting again.  She can sit there for all I care, she's not getting anything else.  I will most likely rehome her.

ohhhh poor squished babies!  So if a girl doesn't respond to breaking do you just let her sit there sometimes?  I am new to this broody thing so any advice would be great.

I'm just through messing with her. I've given her every chance possible. I've had 8 broodies this year, but I've never had a psycho broody like this before.

Ron - that pizza looks soooooo good!

Deb - I can't wait for my splash isbar to start laying.

That looks amazing. wish I could make some too. to bad our oven burst into flames. So we don't have one.

I am very sorry about your oven! I bought a new one last November from Home Depot on the 1 year no interest promotion.

I really like the new oven.

beautiful pizza, Ron!

ok, the stepped-on baby chick has had a few hours to warm up under the EcoGlow, started cheeping in a conversational tone rather than distress, was given several beak-dippings (every half-hour) in electrolytes water & also given one more drop or two of Poly-Vi-Sol -- and has been returned to the coop & tucked under mama. fingers crossed it makes a full recovery!

and now *I* need a glass of wine -- all this chicken drama has me frazzled! if only four chicks can take this much effort, i have no idea how some of you hatch multitudes all at once!

good night!

My Middle DD and I made the most amazing pizza tonight!

It was one of the best ever and I am very picky when it comes to pizza.....

That looks way more satisfying than the salad I had.......

I does look good but we hit 103° today, couldn't bring myself to turn on the oven. We had breakfast for dinner instead.

I'll try and get a picture of the new pullet eggs, I got the first 2 quail eggs todays. Eric picked one up not knowing what it was and dropped it.

I read thru the whole CSU thread yesterday (slow at work) hahaha and wow! Crazy amount of info. My chickens are so far from the SOP lol. They are mostly hatchery birds though. I wish they would do a class on Seramas, my new favorite.

We had a thunderstorm move throigh our area night before last, started about 40 fires, this morning it smells like we are camping! Convoys of men and equipment everywhere.

Today is clean-up day for the fair grounds, hope it goes well. Last week they were using it as a shelter for livestock from the Williams area.

I always worry when there is thunder and lightening. Most fires are started by lightening.
