There's a big fire called the Clover fire up here in Happyvalley. Started at around noon and is now nearly 7,000 acres with many reports of homes burned and people had very little time to evacuate let alone take their livestock. Reports of people trapped and unable to get out. What a horrible fire!!!!

ok, sorry for the blow by blow, but orlando ( sorry neighbors)  has returned! Now if sugar comes back !
The wild turkeys are also freaked out, and the flock that lives next doors mamma is trying to find all her babies.  I wonder if they got a visit too.
Sounds like the block party from ####. I hope they continue to wander back home. I always thought foxes usually took one and took it away to eat it, but with young ones growing up parents may be teaching the young to hunt. if that's the case they need to find different prey!

Relieved to hear that Megan's place is OK so far, and hope the rest of the residents fair as well.

Bcollie, what direction was the fire? My parents live out in Oak Run-out past Palo Cedro.

ETA. Trisha answered my question about the fire. Hope they can get some control on it soon.

Holy cow that grew fast! Well I guess I spoke too soon. What is starting all these fires? Spontaneous combustion???????

We have a friend from Yreka that just got transfered to that fire.

Completely off topic but we got our first pigeon egg today. If they do what they are supposed to there should be another one Wednesday before they start sitting. Weird seeing him tending the egg.

Ha ha! That would be funny to see.

I can off topic you too! I got the keys to the house today. Finally. Whew! And I hear the government changed the rules today for certain loans and you don't have to wait the two-three years after a foreclosure or short sale to buy again.

Woah! That camera is awesome! Where did you find it? Pricey? I'd love to have a coop guard!

ever since my bobcat encounters, my next-door neighbor has installed his critter-cam at various points near/around my coop -- so far has taken pictures of himself, two of my three cats, either several foxes or one that keeps returning, a coyote, and some identified eyes in the dark -- but no bobcat. (even though i've seen it pass through several times.) he keeps hoping, though...

and such good news re: Megan's chickens!! it sure is fire season, especially with this hot streak the past few days. hope everyone stays safe.
