Yes but I live in town and do not have predators here. It is for summer though so there is no roof. I may eventually work on making it of a coop tractor.

I needed more space this summer with the hatching and I wanted to get them outside. I have more room now. I processed the last three cockerels that are not for breeding this week so I have one less grow out space to worry about. The Grow Out tractor is being used to introduce the three pullets to the other flock. I will be moving the Horstman pullets(Rhode Island Reds) into the layer flock and moving the Pinta Pintas and Basque hen pullet in with the Penes.

Loved the grow out pen. Will have to show pics to my husband for sure. That's an awesome idea for pullet introduction as well! Thanks for sharing

Good Morning Lual!

I am getting the mash out of Sweet Pie pumpkins now. They were in the oven wrapped in aluminum foil over night at 200 degrees. The Mash will become pies for Thanks Giving. It freezes well. I also have overnight Cinnamon rolls proofing in the oven. I get to bake them in 20 minutes or so. It is nice to have a day off.

Last time the Penedesencas did not develop. They are very tough to hatch when they travel.

Good Morning Lual!

I am getting the mash out of Sweet Pie pumpkins now. They were in the oven wrapped in aluminum foil over night at 200 degrees. The Mash will become pies for Thanks Giving. It freezes well. I live in town and have lots of predators. Our lot is big and we are surrounded by other houses but we seem to be avenue central for possums, raccoons, skunks, roof rats, and hawks. We even had a dog tunnel under our 6 foot fence last year and make off with our 1 Polish pullet. This weekend, my DH is predator proofing our aviary area with hardware cloth. I'll post pics of it when he is finished. The Pita Pinta are currently in that area and they are under his feet constantly except when he is using the saw or drill. He keeps complaining about the squishy presents they are leaving for him on the wood. They are inspecting everything he does!

I have the mildest mannered barred rock rooster, until the drill comes out that is. Last year he actually attacked it when it was standing upright. He is now locked up when I have the drill out. I'm guessing it is the noise that sets him off. I had the 40 girls from Swing Shift helping me weed the dill bed yesterday. I have a BSL that won't eat earthworms, defective bird!
