California - Northern

That just made my day! Thank you!

Hmmmm..... you guys are so good at enabling. Maybe I'll start taking chicken pics by the season. Wouldn't a calender get boring with only 8 chickens repeating in it though?
I don't think so. Your photos are so beautiful! And there are always your dog & dog with chick pics! I would buy a calender with a different pic of your dog for every month.

Quote: It blew my full trashcan don the road then knoked it over! No it can't roll.. its square. I had abos in my hand to oand it went fling right out of my arms. the power keeps flickering on and off. *sigh* I hope all my shelters and barns survive.

While poking around for a picture, I found a link to winners from the 2013 Minnesota State fair--An urch Silver Duckwing Ameraucana was a winner there.

So if a chicken wins at a poultry competition, does that make them Show Quality?

Here is a pdf of the winners:

Check out how many Urch's are winners and the Breeds.
you would think

they had issued a ji wind warning for over 3000 feet. I am at 3395 and can say yes there are hi winds here lol.
we had no power most of the night. I hope the chickens are ok. I have one coop not in a run . it faces the run but have not put the fence up yet. I put a lock on the door as the metal gate I had leaned in front of it was laying 15 feet away from it when I went to bed.

I would guess close to 60-70 miles and hour gusts over night. Through the huge pine and cedar trees it sounds like a train.

I was having a hard time controlling it. It was getting me a little dizzy with the spinning! I'm not an electronic game player as you can guess.

The mouse control was wonky but there are arrows that work easier at the top of the screen.

Of course my 14 year old could use the mouse with now problem.

How far North? I am in Oklahoma now but was born and raised in Humboldt. Mckinleyville Fieldbrook area, I drew the line at SF. Anyone from Humboldt?

We welcome all present, past, and want to be Californians! I think that California is a state of mind anyway. I grew up in the Midwest and love it. My DH has offered to move us there several times in the last 30 years. It is hard to be away from family but there are so many things about CA that I would miss. On top of that, we lived for 3 years in Houston and my DH could not stand the humidity. He thinks that the snow and ice of winter are nothing compared to living in high humidity. Of course, he's never lived through a long winter that never seems to end. He's a Bay Area Californian through and through!

My 12 year old was watching me play with it and had to walk away. I was making her sick!

The Winters here r not to long, but I lived in Utah for 10 years. My sis just moved here from Santa Rosa. The ice storms r the worst, not much for snow. I do miss it from time to time but do not miss the all the goverment rules in CA. I will subscribe I am new on BYC.

I remember driving through your area of the country years ago on our way home to Iowa for Christmas. It was some of the worst ice on the roads that I have ever experienced. We had a spin out with our small car but managed to stay on the road and not hit anything. Icy roads are scary! I do love the look of ice covered trees with the sunlight hitting them. Loved those snow and ice days that caused school to be cancelled when I was a kid!
