Quote: The FBCM do lay the darkest eggs! I love my dark eggs from the GCMs. They are not as dark as yours, but they are so neat looking I get excited every time I collect them

I saw the picture of your Aseel hen. LOVE her! How do you like the breed? Is she your only one?

On the egg color topic~ My 2 buff Ameraucana hens lay a beautiful sage green egg, and one a blue green egg. I "think" some of the breeders (2 of mine are from Wayne Meredith and the other from John Blehm) used buff Orpingtons to get the buff color.

She is the best momma hen you could wish for, fiercely protective and perpetually broody! I got her as a freebie lol. She is my only one.

With the CL X CP(Cream Legbar X Crele Pene) It does not matter for the barring either!

Nicklandia explained it for us on the Legbar Hybrid Thread.
I'm going to have to check out that thread! I have a group of CL mixes running around here. Their daddy is chiqita's handsome roo Orlando! I also have one strange mix chick that hatched out with a group of white Bresse. He (?) was a yellow chick who had a very faint V on his head and small eye bars. He grew into a white chick with white legs and dark tail & hackle feathers like a Lt Sussex. I am guessing that his father was a CL mix and his mother was a Barred Rock. I need to get some pics of him before he starts crowing and has to go to the farm.

I don't have an Ameraucana but I do have a Cream Legbar Ro and a Buff Orpington hen. Am I oversimplifying this to think I can get pretty eggs from this cross?
