I agree. I just had the best hatch with the Genesis that I bought last year. This time, they were just farm eggs plus the PP/Langshan crosses so I didn't have any money invested and could be much more relaxed about the whole process. I set 12 eggs one day then added an additional 2 eggs over the next 2 days for a staggered hatch. I filled the first section of the water tray, loaded up the eggs in the turner, turned the incubator on, and left it. I didn't obsess over the humidity/temps and just added water when the humidity started to drop. Then on day 18, I filled the second section of the tray plus topped off the first section. I just let the chicks hatch and only opened up the incubator once to remove the first 9 chicks. I set 14 eggs. 1 didn't develop, 9 hatched from the first group, 1 hatched from the staggered eggs, 1 is due to hatch tomorrow, and 1 from the first group didn't hatch. I'm going to do an eggtopsy after the last chick hatches tomorrow. I was very pleased with the hatch rate.
