It looks like the only ones approved so far are the Black Copper, Black, Wheaten, and the white, which was just approved in January 2014...

yes, i've not heard of anything close to approval for Blue yet, and splash (i assume) would be part of the SOP for blue. because splash is an overall pattern but doesn't look consistently the same every time it appears (i.e. a female splash with little grey/black won't necessarily only have offspring with little grey/black?), I can't imagine that anything about the color pattern itself would be a DQ, other than patches of color *other* than black/grey etc?

Yes. I think they are working on getting the Blues accepted? Walt would know. Blue Marans are on the Marans club site as a project. Splash is not but is a product of Blue so it may be included. The standard they are working on may be within the Blue project for Splash so that is where you would need to check.

I hope that made sense.....

The site shows the varieties as Black Copper, Blue Copper, Wheaten, Blue Wheaten, White, Black, Cuckoo, Blue, Birchen, Black Tailed Buff, Splash, Ermine and Duckwing, with only the Black Copper, Black, Wheaten and the white having an approved SOP so far. Some of the others have SOP pending approval and others the SOP is still in progress. Does "In progress" mean they are a project?

20 and a half days and the Cream Legbar x RIR chick is peeping out. Is this a little early?

No it is perfect timing. They will pip the membrane(internal pip) first and you will hear cheeping. On day 20 you often see one or two pip and then The first one hatches. By day 21, most of the hatching will be going on.

Some breeds hatch early, most hatch on time and some hatch late. It makes it interesting when hatching more than one breed because you can be hatching over a three day period of time. Sometimes longer.

I can't wait to see these too!

The incubator is in my bedroom and I can hear him across the house. Since I won't be sleeping much, I'll be posting here tonight.

They like to hatch at night! I hatch in the closet in the bedroom. It is quite noisy on hatch day.

I am excited for you!
