California - Northern

Ron I had printed that Angel Food cake out but now it's missing (my 3 yo likes to take off with things). I printed the curd recipes. I have to teach church tonight but feel like baking tomorrow. We had a bad weekend and I think we could use something yummy. Thanks!
I made the Lemon Curd several years ago and my Youngest Daughter was talking about it in her class at school. The teacher was very impressed. She had read about lemon curd but had not known anyone that had eaten it, let alone a Fifth Grader.

It's hard on this thread to find old posts, so I will post the recipe again:

EE's are pretty tough--they will be fine when you put them out.

If it were me I would put Copper on Corid for the 5 to 7 days just to make sure he isn't having trouble with Cocci. I will keep praying for him.

Ron
Thank you, Ron. I will look into that and where to pick some up. Should I put them all on it- or just him?

Thank you! I spent spent 20 minutes on Sunday looking for it and still couldn't find it in the thread. I hated asking again.

Nikka my beardie. Not a chicken but wanted to share. ;)

Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.

Quote: I bought Corid at the TSC. It cost something like $27.00 for a bag of powder. You put 1/2 a teaspoon into a gallon of water, so I put 1/4 of a teaspoon into half a gallon and gave it to them in a little chick water bottle. I had to make two batches, but since you store it for three days after mixing it was ok. With the little bit needed the stuff will last me for years.

I would give it to him and watch the others. Cocci is supposed to move quickly sometimes. I guess there are a lot of strains. If Copper has it, it is probably not the worst strain since he is not dead. The pooping discomfort and listlessness are signs of Cocci, especially at 8 to 9 weeks of age.

The EEs had Corid along with the GL Wyendotte that was acting sick. They should have resistance to Cocci built up but they should be watched since they are at a new place and there could be a new strain there.

Good luck with Him! If he makes it he will probably be your sentinel Chicken the one that shows symptoms first.

Do they have an open poultry show or just youth?

Deb

I just looked...it looks like open livestock, but for poultry I can only find youth info.

Well...we will be there! My girls have talked me into bringing 9 chickens and a turkey. I think I need my head examined.

I'm entering flower arrangements today for the fair, then I'll do some flower arrangements for the livestock auction... exciting!!

I order cartons from Nasco, buy 100 at a time, for a great price:

Their shipping is fast, too.
I never even thought of giving money back for used cartons. Some people give them back, but I like to put fresh eggs in fresh cartons.

Pam, I like your avatar. Now I want to come up and do wine tasting. DH is up there working for a few days, on Clark St. He didn't get the bigger project, unfortunately. He's just rebuilding the sign outside the shopping center.

Laura, I won't have chicks in 2 weeks. It's going to be a while longer until I send the eggs to Ron.

Ron, I will need to ship these eggs down south. What are those great packing instructions again?

Deb, congrats on the hatch.

Good luck to everyone entering in their fairs!

Kim
Thanks Kim! You need to come up and drink some wine. If your husband like beers, we have 6 different beer on tap including 2 from our local brewery. I hope your husbands replacing the Grocery Outlet sign!

It's HUGE!
Quote: My four year old granddaughter love my Hollendaise sauce! Such sophisticated little palates. Did I miss the lemon curd recipe?

I agree Amy - I'd put him on Corid, especially with blood in his stool. Did her have bloody stool before you did the procedure? Chicks that have cocci can have bloody stools (though not always) and they lay around looking puffed up. Glad the watermelon is helping.
