I have an 8 mos. old Jubilee Orpington cockerel which I a am looking for a home. His parents are from GFF, and he is beautiful. He has a brother who is very handsome as well. He is a fox attack survivor which left him with a slight limp. He is very friendly, sweet bird who would be much happier in a home where he can be the only rooster.

Also, I have 2 Ceam Legbar cockerels who are 9 wks. old. They have pale colors, with nicely shaped crests.

If interested, and would like more info. please PM.

Well that's a special gift. A huge pay it forward for me to pass on:-) Thank you.

The basque had went into molt when your
Mama brought the OD up. I was wanting chicks but could go for eggs . ( I really want chicks!) but that was before the holidays then life got crazy. So.... If a basket of chicks can be smuggled up whenever the cabin gets checked on....

I watched it! Phew it was hard to watch. I kept interjecting with my own rebuttals:-0 i was exhausted by the end lol!
My pleasure. I am glad they got a great home. Chooklet was super generous when I got my breeding quad, so it feels right to pay it forward.

Thanks for the refresher course on our plan for the Basque. I swear, I have the worst memory.... The Basque are laying now, and I have eggs and chicks available. I'll let you know when the next person goes up and we can see if we can make it work.

Is this CL x Black Copper Marans?
I miscalculated and was not ready for the hatch so the chicks did not get divided. It could be;
-Cream Legbar over Black Copper Marans
-Splash Marans over Blue Marans
-Splash Marans over Black Marans
-Splash Marans over EE
I have 6 splash chicks in the crowd. Could the CL over BCM go splash?

sad to report that the little black isbar chick, the one that hatched later and slower than all the others, did not make it -- just not strong enough. but the other five are doing great at 5 days old.

and i took some photos of most of the grown/growing birds (except for one pen, their turn to be outside is today) -- here are a few of my favorite snaps:

Blue the isbar boy & the two isbar/marans cross girls

Blue trying to impress...

two splash isbar pullets, running around together

two mottled cream legbars -- Deann, i showed this picture to GaryDean & apparently his *best* hen is mottled in the same way! maybe it wasn't a swedish invasion after all!

nice hairdo

the silver campine trio

they are such handsome birds...

young duckwing marans -- comb & wattles look like a boy, but doesn't act like one at ALL

black marans pullet

finally, the chickens in the big pen were VERY jealous of those who got to be outside! but the boys fight if i let them all out at once. the chicks are crosses of my birchen marans boy & isbar/marans girl, being raised by a broody mom.

Hi Lual!

They sound like very nice birds!

I hope someone wants them.

Beautiful birds! I have a thing for black and white birds and, after seeing your pics, I think that I "need" some silver campines! They are gorgeous! They lay white eggs, don't they? I don't have any white egg layers!

So sorry about the little one

I hate losing them when they are so little an innocent. But I love looking at all your chicken pictures! You have quite a variety!

yes, they lay beautifully pearly-looking white eggs -- their only downside is that they LOVE to roam around, and i can't let them free-range all the time, due to too many predators around -- so they complain. but they're wonderfully beautiful -- and i like the idea of helping to keep an old heritage breed going!
