California - Northern

I hear ya!  We have had solid rain since Wednesday, but not as much as you.  And we are supposed get more tomorrow....a break on Tuesday then pretty much more rain all week.  I keep hearing these weather people say, "but it isn't helping with the drought"  How dumb is THAT???  Of course it's "helping".   It may not have ended it, but it is certainly helping!
Well for us in the mountain the rain is insuring a drought. The snow pack feeds the lake through the summer. From the outlets there we feed the rivers of the surrounding lowlands. This rain is washing off the snow pack . There will be little to no melting feed throughout the summer and we risk flooding early -spilling precious water we need to
Make it to fall. But there is still a few months left and we just never know what's around the corner.

Good Luck!

I am not saying you should get them or not since it will come down to a  personal decision.  There is conflicting information out there about the withdrawal period.  I think labels are not always the most   reliable source  since most products are not tested on laying hens.

I prefer looking for scientific studies when it comes to food safety.

I still don't see why there are no studies on chickens. Years ago I found the same situation when I was on poultry connection chicken site. Only personal experience but none of the drugs have had studies on poultry. It's not like they haven't had the time. I guess it's a $$ thing. Quite frustrating. After all these years, they know it's used on poultry

I have W/BW Ameraucana eggs from Lark Rise arriving on Wednesday. Good thing I have the Genesis 1588 for hatching to free up my Octagon 20 for the next round of eggs.

It is money. It is very expensive to get a medicine approved for a breed. Commercially they just hatch more chicks and do not keep layers more that two years.

There will likely bee more investment though with the Backyard poultry movement currently.

The same problem applies to Veterinarians that treat chickens.
