They are very good incubators. The humidity pump adds to the cost. It is usually about 90 more to get the ex. The humidity pump adds 126 if purchased seperately.

The Humidity pump sits outside the incubator and uses tubing to add water to a pad. The control unit turns on the pump.

It seems to add about $150 to $200 on Amazon to order it with it. Also about another $160 to get it separately. That puts it a little over my budget. Is it necessary or is it still a good one without it?

That's better. I think I will get the one without it for now and add it later if I need it. The eggs I just started are in the Farm Innovator. If I get the Brinsea and get it set up, do you think I could transfer the eggs to it once it is stablized or do you think it would be better to leave them where they are?
Yes, I would transfer them and hatch in the Farm Innovator.

Perfect! I have been having problems with the humidity in the Farm Innovator. It's either way higher than I want or way lower. It drops to about 15% so I add avery small amount of water and it shoots up to 60%. I should be able to get it stay higher for hatch pretty easily, but keeping it lower for incubation is a pain. It holds the temp pretty steady though.....right at 99.7

Not sure why but this is the second chick I have had that looks dehydrated and is fading fast! Why? She's like 4 days old, really light comPared to the others and her legs and feet look wrinkled like she's dehydrated. How do I fix that? I put grogel in there but she's not eating or drinking. How can I make her drink?

Put drops in her beak or dip her beak. You can tube feed but but thats tricky tricky in chicks. If they are your own chicks send them in to make sure they are not dying from something passed via the youlk.

Check ebay and the brinsea web site. They always have a 10% off code. Might be cheaper.
You can always get a humidity pump later if you want.

It is on sale at Brinsea for $349 ans has a code for 10% off, but has a $24 shipping charge. It would be about $10 less, but I can;t find any info about shipping times. I want to get it hear as soon as possible and Amazon shows 3-5 days. I think I will call Brinsea tomorrow and try to get a time frame.

Ok...I'm getting a pretty good tax refund so I thought I would treat myself to a better incubator. (I'm using the Farm Innovator). I'm looking at the Brinsea Octagon 20 advanced. It is on Amazon for $349 with free shipping. What do you all think of that one ans is that a good price? I am also a little confused by these 2 listings. This first one haw a much simpler listing and is model number B00A2XSLDI. It is the one that has free shipping:

http://www.amazon.com/Octagon-Advan...000665&sr=8-17&keywords=brinsea+egg+incubator

This one looks like the same exact one, sold by the same company, but has a $29 shipping fee. It does not give a model number and has very little in the description:

http://www.amazon.com/Octagon-Advan...rds=brinsea+octagon+20+advance#productDetails

Are they the same incubator?
For Brinsea use coupon code for 10% off: ADozenGirlz . For thanksgiving/Black Friday it has been 20% off the last two years, That's when I got mine. that code has been for the last 2 years : BLACK . Like them on FB and you can keep up if they offer any other codes, but usually 20% is only once a year.
