California - Northern

I'm from Waterford, CA (over by Modesto) , but my family moved me to El Paso, TX....UGH! I miss California! No money to move back with and my ferrets and sugar gliders are illegal there!

Calm down Wooden Pony! Not everyone down here is So.Cal is nuts...lol You are right on about the division. I can drive to Ventura/Santa Barbara in about 2 hours from here and I'm 2 hours north of San Diego. Almost 8 to S.F. But the North 1/2 of the state is bigger...

OK, as far as dividing CA up, I will give my .02! We live about 25 min north of Santa Barbara, in the Santa Ynez Valley. We consider ourselves the dividing point between Southern and Central CA, and honestly, I think anything north of Big Sur is Northern CA! That leaves a big Northern CA, a big Southern CA and a small Central CA.

People here in the SYV think that they are an extension of Santa Barbara (though not politically, I can tell you....sigh) and truly feel they are in both Southern and Central CA.

There ya go, and I'm sticking to it!

Ok, I'm pretty sure that I'm safe in saying that I live in Central CA. I live in the foothills East of Fresno - you can't get much closer to the center of the state than that!!!

Is there anybody out there who is relatively close to me?

Woo Hoo San Rafael! I'm a Marin ex-pat, Gerstle Park (off of Wolfe Grade) to be exact. Moved to Mount Shasta in the summer of 2005 and still have many friends down there.

Greetings

We had to go there three times pulling our 34 ft.
Toy Hauler RV oh my it was NERVE RACKING!!

We had to haul it down to Riverside for one of the trips!

LOVE parts of So. Cal just not the highways!

Hey send me some Jacaranda seed pods!! We can buy the trees up here but they are not as pretty as the ones down in So. Cal. They are such a deep purple down there here they are pale colored. Everytime we went down there we never stopped near enough to a tree for my to rob it of its pods
