Going to scrap the Wheaten Penedesenca eggs.. day 22 and nothing on the only 2 that looked to develop. will candle them tonight and then toss em.. ugh
Thanks Usps. I hope you enjoyed what appeared to be your expensive soccer ball.
Aw, I'm sorry.
I remember when only one chick hatched in the bator... he wouldn't eat or drink. So we had to go to the feed store (

) and get 2 hatchery BO's. Turns even the only JG that hatched had issue's too. He started getting side sprigs

It happens. when dealing with Ultra rare breeds they are not on every street corner so you learn to take your chance.

Oh so familiar.

The two of mine(Partridge Penedesenca) that did not hatch were early quitters. I cracked them open, and they had not absorbed the yolk, so were both gone before lock down.

They were treated ok getting to me. The other two breeds hatched well. They just did not have enough energy to finish the race(sorry I am watching the Olympics).

Gonna try them again in a month or so.

are you going to try Partridge? or what kind? I will have Crele's in about 2 months.

NICE!! I'm inspired! The hoop coop- how much did the materials cost for that one?
Well for me it was under $10. I had all but the PVC around. Bit if u were to buy all the material brand new I'd say about $150 maybe cheaper. The cattle pannels are only $20 and u only need 2. Wood maybe $50-$75. And little nick knacks for it. REAL CHEAP! I want to do these hoop coops for my breeding Pens I'm gonna build soon in this part of my property And here's my new trough feeder I just built from plastic rain gutter and a piece of 2x4. I use it for the fermented feed.

I found one place that has Wheaten and Partridge. They sell them for 36.00 per dozen. Another place has the partridge for 48.00 per dozen. The second place may be cheaper--I don't know if the shipping is separate or included in the price for them. The first place charges 18.00 per dozen shipping with a discount if you buy more.

I might get a dozen of Wheaten and a dozen of Partridge.

Happy Saturday!

Amy Beth - How's Copper doing? How's the pullet doing? I'm praying for you guys!
Cali Chick - I think you asked me a couple of pages back how much the shipping is for orders on www.groworganic.com. I believe it was $10 for shipping and we ordered about 10 pounds of seeds.
I can't believe my DH is driving me to the Pleasant Valley Farm & Garden Supply located in Grass Valley today!

I'll probably get about 10 pounds of the seed mix like you did.

We'll spend as much in gas (as shipping) but hopefully it will be a pretty drive. Thank you for telling me about the Omega-3 seed mix. I can't wait to get it growing for my chickens!!

hmm you mind me asking where the first place is?

I have the first place bookmarked at work. The second place is the one with the Partridge and the Wheaten. These might be good prices depending on the shipping.

They have a cold pack option too.

I like the way the Crele look. They look a lot like the Marraduna. Since you live in Placerville, I could pick them up from you? My wife has an Aunt and Uncle that lives up there.

Best!

Ron
