I think I have lost my touch. I could not get my d'Anver chicks to line up. Not the best pictures, but they show the chicks cute little owlish faces

Now that my chickend hate to lay eggs -_- I just bought

15 Hubbard Golden Comet Chicken (pullets)

I finally get into a co-op and I have no eggs. go figure. I bought a fridge because I had so many... go figure... UG!

happy to report that the one remaining marans, after a LONG wait, is finally out! peeping wildly -- will wait til it fluffs up a bit, move over to the brooder (there will now be a total of 22 chicks in there of varying ages, pure mayhem), give the RCom a bit of a rinse inside, and then get the shipped isbar eggs back in quickly, they started on friday & can now finally incubate in peace...
great to hear

Great news! Was this your best hatch ever with the R Com?

Good morning! I woke up at 4 this morning to check on a hatching chick. It is one of my Langshans and true to form was the last to hatch. I have two more Langshan eggs that show no signs of activity. Last night was day 22 so I'll leave them in there another day or so. I set 25 eggs to hatch and 23 hatched so not bad. The breeder who sold me the Langshan trio told me that she hatches the eggs on their sides so I tried that this time. There was a lot of football going on in there but it seems like they hatched better on their sides instead of big end up in cartons which is the way I have done it up to now. The majority of the chicks are Pita Pintas. I love seeing a brooder full of little yellow chicks with black markings! They are so cute!
