I know it. Can you believe that someone actually told me that roosters only mated with the chicken of their kind?

I refrained from howling with laughter as it was a public place and didn't want to appear any more unhinged than necessary.

Someone forgot to give that memo to my boy Zorro! It would sure make life easier if that was so!

Does anyone know of a place to get a Killing/Restraint cone for under $20? I have been looking at them online and they are anywhere from $25 to $100...plus shipping. I don't want to spend a ton sinmce I don't know if I will do this again. I can't really fabricate anything myslef either so the ones I have seen here made from flashing are not really ans option and would cost a ton too since I don't have a pop riveter.

My inlaws started out using 1 gal mil/water jugs. Cut off the bottoms. Enlarge the top. Nail it upside down to a board. Insert chicken head down.

That said, we are Modesto. Have a 3 (or 4 ?) cone set-up on a board. Ready to use. You may borrow it if you are close enough to come get it. Oh - You have to wait to come get it until my son can find it in the shop. My BIL used to work for a company in MO that manufactured them so he gifted us one Christmas. Rather a strange gift...

Would an orange safety cone work? I have no idea but someone up here was telling me that's what they used.

I've seen people use cut down traffic cones.

I need to talk to my roosters....they will mate with ducks too.

I'm trying to make it so I don't have to see them until I get used to it. I am pretty far away from you almost 3 hours), but thank you so much for the offer.

LOL!! That would definitley be a strange "gift"... Most people I know would have no idea what they even are!

I have seen suggestions to use a traffic cone turned upsidedown. The Water Company came by last week looking for a leak out by the street. They did some digging and filled it in with road base and left a cone over it......I found myself plotting to sneak out after dark and hijack it.....but that would be bad and I would never do it

. Home Depot and Lowe's carry traffic cones but they are not the full sized ones. I will have to go in and look at them to see if one would work
