So, I just bought two fawn OEGB's; I believe one is a female and one is a male by their "eyeliner" and back stripe. The "male" has been attacking my other OEGB chicks quite viciously. I have never ever seen this before in week old chicks. He just keeps relentlessly flogging the other chicks. Can I do anything to stop this? Or rehome the problem child?

It's so odd.

Remember the IT chicks? Well, they're still in the office. I didn't want to bring the incubator back home over my bumpy dirt road.
And because we're computer geeks, we set up a webcam feed to stream to the local kindergarten. The kindergarteners already stopped by to see the eggs in person. There was much discussion on what was going to hatch out of the eggs. Popular choices were chicks, ducks, puppies or pizza.
My money's on the pizza. All the way.

Oh! I want to hatch pizza! I always have room for pizza!

Someone put these colorful egg shaped stones in all the nesting boxes, in the brooders, in the breeding pens, & on top of the egg fridge...

If only I can get one of my family members to cop to it....

Pretty cute

Here is some Good Friday cuteness! These are pics of my first broody mama of the year and the five chicks she hatched this week. Anne (one of the 3 Bronte sisters) hatched last spring from some mixed eggs that I got from chiqita. She is a big, fluffy girl with lightly feathered legs. I'm not totally sure on her parentage besides Orlando the CL being her father. She is doing an excellent job with the babies! They all hatched from blue CL or AM eggs and Zorro is their daddy!

How old are they? Maybe he is just settling in?

My son had that happen with his quail. He tried separating it for a long timeout to see if that would work......It didn't...he ended up having to oust it.

Congrats!!! Which Brinsea is it?

The new Octagon 20 Ex with the humidity module. Ray set it up for me at 100.2 at 45% humidity & ran it that way the whole time. We just stopped turning for lockdown.
