Kaylish, I hatched 3 phoenix bantams 2 weeks ago. All 3 had tails the first week. My luck isn't good enough to get 3 pullets, I'm guessing phoenix don't follow the early tails on the girls rule. It did hold pretty true on BLRW's though.

or was it on the Hatch a long thread? The Breed has to have slow feathering Cockerels and fast feathering pullets. It works for a few breeds but not all of them. There are some breeds that are opposite with fast cockerels and slow feathering pullets. Others feather at the same rate.

Look up the breed you have and keep notes too. You will get a feel for it over time with them.

Still, some are notoriously hard to figure out, right @chiqita

Well that sounds like a lot of fun!  Any videos you car to post????

It is a lot of fun! And, no videos. But there are some you tube videos out there! I'm not in them as I've only been in the chorus for a year. So this is my first Regional Competition and our chorus won last year so we travel to Baltimore in November to compete internationally. I have to say, no offense to the Baltimore transplants or Baltimore readers of this thread, but last years Internatinals were held in Hawaii! Feeling a bit slighted! :idunno

Those are blue wheaten Ameraucana chicks from my flock. 3 pullets, 1 cockerel. BW pullets are cream colored with blue tails and wing bows and the cockerels are blue with gold. :)
Striking birds. Just beautiful to look at:))))

Adventure is out there!!!!!! Yeah and every other bug is gigantic as well too I hear.

Yeah Hot is what I hear everywhere. You know they do the "casual carpool" in San Francisco too. They actually have City signs put up that indicate what line to stand in to get a ride to the various drop off points. I used to pick up people from the Vallejo Bus stop and drop them off in S, and then on the way home I would grab two more people and drop them off in Vallejo. It unnerved me a couple of times, but for the most part the people that use it are other business people.

just chiming in to confirm, I used the casual carpool system (as a rider, not a driver) for years to commute from Oakland to SF -- fantastic system, works for everybody. glad to know they have something similar set up in Houston!
