For those of you who have hatched with a broody, can a large fowl hatch out bantam eggs, or will mama squash them?
Any excuse to post this pic again...

Mama is LF barnyard mix Dorking/Polish size wise she is on the polish end of her parentage so smaller than a lot of my other girls. Chicks are Silkie/D'Uccle. I wouldn't mix bantam and LF eggs and I also wouldn't put them under a really big mama or give expensive eggs to a first time broody. Good Luck
I served rabbit once at a rabbit club potluck. It was a local rabbit show club, mostly all adults. One woman was vehement in her stance of not eating rabbit. I had taken the rabbits and ground them, then made lasagna.

She asked if she could take the leftover lasagna home. I said sure and sent it with her.

I never told any of them the meat in the dish was rabbit..................I'm bad

Must have been delicious! How are your AC eggs looking? are they close?

I candled my Del eggs under my broody...Day 5...I really couldn't see much. My flashlight isn't bright enough and they are fairly dark and it is early. Maybe saw veining maybe it was imagination and wishful thinking. Will look again in about a week.

This boy is going to replace the one that died at @CackleJoy 's place!

I may need to get some hatching eggs from her later.....

Handsome boy! Do MB hens carry the barring/crele gene?

A few years ago we had ducklings and my son made the mistake of taking one to bed and then falling asleep. He woke up covered in poop. He won't make that mistake again.

I thought that was going to end less well hahah. I have duck diapers we got for our first duck we now use for seremas. has anyone seen the photos of using face masks as chicken diapers?
they have some:

His sister is on the right.
ok, when you check ron, mario wants to know if the pon thingie is the right is of a size that it can be replaced if fobar, or too small.

I feel as if I'm a fly on this wall..

Pots are replaceable if one knows the value, footprint and how to solder. You could find a replacement at:

Kathy answered this quite well.

I will let you know if it has one. They might be the little ones soldered to a logic board.

Quote: Hearing that, I will protect her from marauding busy-bodies. I have been enviously following your hatchings. You must have tripled your Serama flock by now! Got any new pics to share?

Quote: These Seramas are on the small side, so this is very useful advice. Thank you! Tiny little bodies cool down so quick, and I wouldn't have thought of that. I have a pen in the garage and a ground cage for outside, so keeping them safe and separate will be easy.

Quote: Adorable! I'll have enough good eggs to set in a few days. Very excited, can hardly wait!
