Our lot is almost 1/3 acre and it is on a small cul-de-sac so pie shaped. 2 other cul-de-sacs back up to our property with lots of trees at the fence line between houses. But I was outside watering this morning and our dog tore across the yard barking like crazy. I thought that it was a squirrel in one of our Cedar trees. But, no! It was a man on top of the shed in the yard behind us. He turned quickly before I could see what he was doing and jumped across to the roof of the house and boogied. I did notice that he had a cell phone in his hand. He wasn't a shady looking character but who can tell these days. I would like to know if he was taking pics of my yard. Fortunately, my chickens were all hiding out under the bushes! I have a couple of young crowing cockerels that we missed taking to the farm. One decided to crow before 6 this morning. The two are spending the night in the garage and headed to the farm in the morning.

Edited to add that thankfully I was dressed for once! I usually do my backyard chores in my PJs and robe!

LOL< I am sure some random bikerider has looked over and seen me leaning over in a long shirt and nothing else in the wee early hours. WTH are they doing there anyway??? Its 6 am go home no one wants to see you riding up a hill at 6 am!

Tell crazy random guy to piss off next time! Do you know who the neighbor is he jumped on the roof of?
I wonder if they would actually let you get away with that. I have a legal limit of 10 here, but I have 6 adult hens and something like 10+ baby chicks.
I don't know, are officers suseptable to chicken maths?

Some areas do not consider animals that will only be there a limited amount of time....like those being raised for meat. It might vary by area on the amount of time though

I have two birds for sale, a very high quality Black Copper Marans cockerel and a Splash Laced Red Wyandotte cockerel. The Marans is 7 weeks old and the Wyandotte is 5 weeks. PM if interested, they really need to find good homes, and soon. Before they start crowing. I don't want our chickens taken away because of a crowing cockerel.

ETA: Transport can be arranged anywhere between Redding/Sacramento.

Does anyone know how effective the PROZAP garden & Poultry dust is for treating poultry lice? I have some of that and Sevin Dust 5%. I have been reading that the PROZAP is more environmentally friendly, but want to use what will work. Any feedback on it?
Id try Frontline. It works great
if your chickens are infested badly you can dip them in a warm vinegar / water solution to before applying frontline

Its hard to sell Roosters if you need them gone its best to give them away.

I know my mom has been wanting some BLRW, I'll see if she is interested in splash laced as well. We just bought some Marans a few weeks ago and two are already looking like cockerels, so no help there. Good luck.
