I DO have room in the Bator.  How amny do you have?  And is  there a way to sex the ones I have?

Oh no!  I'm so sorry.  You sure have been having a rough time lately.  I am glad you are at least having good things happen in between...:hugs

How adorable!   Looks like a blue Marans to me too.   I really love the eyeliner girl!

This one almost looks too light for blue.  Could it be splash?
Mine are off laying almost completely.  I got 1 egg today from 6 hens (one is raising chicks thought and another is trying to go broody)

Wow!  You are doing great!!!  :thumbsup

Sounds like good motivation for you to get the doors on.   I am setting up a nipple system for my meaties.  I hope they don't make a mess....but they do with regular waterer anyway.

I love watching hatches!  Thanks for posting this.....:clap

:fl

Poly-Vi-Sol too?

Yeah!!!!  She looks great now!

EEEWWWW!!!   Sounds like to more guineas!!!

Many areas want you to save the tivk and senf it in for testing.  I guess the Health Dept would know that

Thanks Ron......I won;t be sleepng tonight now

It's going to be a long night around here, I have pips & zips with lots of peeps galore! They are all from "party" eggs I bartered/won/was gifted or coerced into hatching

Ms Dyann... I'm pretty jazzed as I have @chiqita Bresse, @Chooklet Cochin, @PetRock Pita Pinta and from @Sueg4332 Salmon Faverolle and Wheaten Marans! Hatch day excitement never gets old.

It just seems so improble I must be wrong... im not ron you know!!
Sounds like it's time to buy a lotto ticket!

I don't think I posted it in this thread, but just to 'test' my Brinsea (yeah, I'm already justifying hatches lol) I put in some TJ eggs, hoping to get a White Leghorn or two to add to my flock. Had some issues- temps shot up to 102 on day five, husband jostled it and cracked two eggs, but STILL some of these seem to be developing. I set seven eggs (marked L, E, G, H, O, R and N). H and O seem to be duds, no veins at all a week in. The other five have veins and little black eye spots, and just in the super quick candling (maybe ten seconds per egg) I definitely saw movement in G, R and N. Yay! I know it is too soon to fret over it, but I'm already stressing that if a cracked egg makes it to hatch the poor chick is going to try to pip through the wax I think I put on too thickly. ugh... we'll see.
HeHe...I'm heading to TJs on Friday to pick up a dozen for my "test hatch"...Great minds think alike.

2nd round is gonna be Bantam Cochins from Papa Brooder; with a little luck they'll hatch out on my daughters 3rd birthday.

Quick ? on timing a hatch. When I set the eggs, that begins day 1 correct (the 1st 24 hours is day 1, hours 25-48 are day 2 etc)? and hatch will "start" during day 21? So then is "lockdown" started at the beginning of day 18?

Yep, alligator lizards and gopher snakes also.

@cappavalleychick not doing anything but putting some water in the hatching dividers all the chicks from home have hatched. I had to pop a few that got too big when humidity was 55% during incubation but its been fabu you should get a 2\2!!

I wasn't going to say anything, but I'm feeling like I never want to hatch anything ever again. I had eggs in the RCom, eggs in the Genesis, and under 3 broodies. Early on, the Genesis humidity kept fluctuating from 19-69%, so I took those eggs and put them in the RCom. One of the broodies didn't stick, so I lost those eggs.
Then, when I upped the humidity prior to hatch on the RCom, the temperature kept shooting up over 100-102. I unplugged & reset it twice, but it would not stay below 100. So, I put all those eggs under the broody whose eggs had not hatched. The third broody did hatch out 6-8 chicks. I just finished pulling out all the full term dead chicks from under the broody who had the RCom eggs.

In addition, I had 2 chicks and a pig die from the heat. I'm not a happy farmer at the moment. Too much death for me to keep a stiff upper lip.

Kim I'm so sorry about your losses. You have no need to keep a stiff upper lip around here. Many of us understand exactly how you feel, unfortunately. :hugs

I've been reading the last few days--I just haven't said anything.... So--Congrats on hatches, I'm so sorry for losses, and welcome to the new people (and returnees)!

I got a new phone a couple weeks ago, and have just tonight realized that the simplest way to get photos (at least without going and getting a usb cord, which takes forever) would be to email myself. So, pictures! Eek, sorry they came in huge--I told the uploader "Medium"...

Anyway, these first 2 are of an egg I got on 6/2. I don't think it was pecked--no cracks, the membrane was whole, and the edges are smooth. I guess the shell just didn't get secreted all over

Here's No-Name (the one my husband's supposed to name) on the 9th--I noticed that her face was looking red, and she'd started squatting for me.

And here's what I found in the big girls' nest box today! The getting-to-know-you pen is still in the coop, and Cookie lays and sleeps in the milk crate--I did just prop open the lid to the pen so the young'ns can come and go as they please, because intros haven't been going well. The open lid seems to be fine, so far, and obviously there's mixing when I'm not around... The second picture is comparing the new egg to the lightest of my other eggs. The photos are in my lap because, for some reason, the pics I took this afternoon didn't save to my phone
