I want to give a big thank you to Chris for transporting birds for me today! He took 2 turkey poults down to Jules (fortyfivefarm) and 8 Pita Pinta chicks (6-9 wks old) to Brice (bayocum) of Sunbird Farms. Jules has reported that one of the little poults is weak and not eating. I sure hope that he makes it! Brice is thrilled with the Pita Pintas which makes me so happy! He bought 2 cockerels and 6 pullets. It is exciting to have another PP breeder here in CA!

The only thing I can find is a White Faced Black Spainishj, but I don;t think the featheres are white. I think it is the skin. With yours it vould be just the marking sor that particular chick. it should be very cute if it stays white!

Oj no! How awful! I hope you are able to secure the area so you don't lose anymore.

You can spray vetricyn on it but if there is any blood, you need to use blu kote or separate out the one that is bleeding. They other chickens will eat it.

Bears have to be the hardest predators to protect against!

I have quite a few Pita Pinta pullets of various ages if you need a few to replace the 2. I would love an excuse to come to Tahoe! The chicken train is ready to roll!

What color is my Olive Egger? Blue, or black? I was thinking black but I'm not sure...The lady who I bought it from says it's a cross between Marans and "Americans"(EE's most likely) Also, do you think it will keep the white face as it grows up?

I hope the hot wire works; it's gonna be a bad year for predators.
