Glenn County, almost in Willows.
So much for cutting back, LOL!
The thing about cutting back is that it leaves openings. When the last of the pullets I've been growing out for others go I may have withdrawals.

The eggs sound tempting, but I would need to wait until spring. I actually had packed up my incubators for the season when Jeff was able to send me some more BLRW eggs down with someone from the area. I set it back up for them, but it's getting too late in the season to have small chicks, especially without a broody. I think the 3 year olds are older than I want to go right now. Thank you so much for the offer though!

My girls are all molting and barely laying right now, so it would have to be spring anyway

Silkies! Aw... post pics if you get a chance.

That horde of chicks troubling you doesn't happen to contain silkies, does it? Especially Cuckoo or blue?
Here's the first 4 silkies peepers (blues, I think - eggs marked "SB"):

with flash

without flash

super thick foot feathering on the 2 on the left

2 more have hatched ("SR" & "zig": 3 more to go) & an orp has pipped!
ETA: These eggs are from Jeff (PapaBrooder).
