@Chrissyr, thank you, she definitely was. I feel bad sending her in for necropsy instead of burying her.
But I have to know what the CoD is.

But I have to know what the CoD is.So nobody knows anyone besides Jeff in the Redding or Sacramento areas that has hatching eggs? I'm trying to find Lakenvelders but cannot for the life of me find them locally or in Sac. I can't even find them available to ship except for from hatcheries. After the heartbreak I've experienced losing birds due to them being hatchery birds(egg laying problems) I don't want hatchery birds again. I'm also looking for other breeds such as Pita Pinta but am not positive yet about what I want, so I'm open to suggestions. I like unique birds and a colorful egg basket.
And Jeff's LF Chocolate Orps. If only I could afford them! They're beautiful.

I'm looking everywhere. I've sent Deb a message asking if she has hatching eggs. I hope she still does, I will try to convince my mom to make the drive to her from Sac if she does. They may be rare but I'm determined to get my hands on themI'm looking everywhere. I may try my hand at shipped eggs, I forgot how much I liked Exchequer Leghorns until I came across a picture of them. 12 eggs for $30 shipped isn't too bad. I need to think about it though, I don't want to make a rushed decision, especially considering the fact that shipped eggs don't always hatch well.
I may end up saving up to splurge on a LF Chocolate Orpington pullet. But I'm a little confused about what this means,
"Orpington Chick- LF Project Chocolate PulletsSex linked Chocolate pen: Black split to Chocolate Rooster over Black Hens."
Does that mean that the hens are black, not chocolate?
Why do you think your Pita Pinta's aren't laying right now? That's odd

My hens have yet to go through their first full molt. I'm kind of dreading it, it's going to be a mess!!
I've been googling pictures of some breeds that Jeff has and my goodness, some of them are just gorgeous. I didn't realize from the small pictures on his website how pretty some of them were.
Lavender Orpington and Gold/Blue Partridge Brahma's especially. Wow! Now I have to decide between 3: The two mentioned, leaving a spot open for a Chocolate Orp when I can afford one, Exchequer Leghorns, and Lakenvelders...how am I supposed to decide?
Honestly, the more I think about it the more I'm thinking I want to do this: Get Lakenvelders from Deb if she has any (trusted source) and two different breeds from Jeff (trusted source). Just not sure which ones I want. I think I have decided for sure though that I want a Lavender Orpington. I can't get over how pretty they are! Does anyone else here have them? I want to see pictures!

So does that mean Jeff's chicks would be " * Black Male carrying Chocolate X Chocolate Female = 25% Chocolate Males, 25% Black Males carrying Chocolate, 25% Chocolate Females, 25% Black Females"?
