I live in Sacramento with my husband and four children (three boys ages 7, 5, almost 4, and a girl who is 18mos). Hope to post regularly, I love a good chat thread!

Wow! Lots of new (and new gain) folks! Welcome to all of you!




Just wanted to share a couple of pictures of the Marans chicks my broody hatched from eggs I bought from @dldolan . The 2 blues and the splash are from her nice dark brown eggs. The 3 Black Copper are ones that I grafted into the clutch after the hatch. They were only a couple of days older and she took them in immediately. Very healthy babies! I am so happy!

How cute!!! I have 3 Maran chicks from her, too. Mine are 2 splash and 1 blue. Of course, I am hoping that they are all pullets!

Well 5 out now 3 fluffed out and had to pull them an put them under the plate. 1 more pip working its way out now 5 RIRXWhile Leghorn 1 Delaware.

I think the last one is having trouble with the membrane.There is hole in the membrane but Its not ripping open.

Y'all know I love me some showgirls but I must say that this one is pretty funny-looking...

There's this weird bald patch on the front of it's head above the comb & tufts just above the nostrils.

Maybe I'll call it Igor.

Last one made it out now all the pipped eggs that were sill moving are out 1 Silkie didnt
make it all the rest pipped and made it out. Will wait a few hours for them to fluff and then move them to the brooder then candle the remaining eggs maybe let them run one more day then do the eggtopsy
