California - Northern

So i set like 15 eggs mostly LF but can't tell if they are growing (dark shells) the lady did not know if they are fertile out or not and then i have four serama and only one is showing growth

Thanks for the update!

I hope you get some too hatch.

I have a mix of molting birds and layers right now I bought some Feather Fixer to help the molting ones it is lower calcium than laying pellets though so was wondering if I just supplemented the calcium if that would be enough. Any thoughts?

Am considering mixing half and half and adding DE and giving it as a mash. Have some extra eggs so I was going to scramble some and add some crushed eggshell. I have free choice oyster shell available to them but Im still getting some soft shell eggs.

I'm also considering getting them some D3 I have some 1000u caplets I can drain and give them an oral dose to help with the calcium. D3 aids in metabolism of calcium apparently.

When people add ACV to the water how much do you add?

I give them some in the mash I feed them but lately they have only been getting dry pellets. (Time constraints)

They ones molting and not laying do better with the lower calcium. The ones still laying will get enough from free choice Oyster shell calcium.

I have a sick little bird up here and wondering if any of you have had anything similar.

She is hardly able to walk. I have found her sitting wedged up on her tail, if that makes any sense. I have also found her laying on her side unable to right herself. Her neck is drawn down on her back/chest.

She is eating and drinking fine with assistance, eyes nice and bright, no sounds of congestion or bubbling. Her stool looks normal now that she's getting help eating and drinking..

It could be a brain injury--B vitamins are good for that. Also poly vi sol without iron. The vitamins can help the brain heal.

She's getting Rooster Booster in the water, the Nutri-drench is in hiding somewhere.
Seems to be getting stronger with each feeding.

I lean towards a neuro injury also, she's a Pyncheon with a tassel so trying to evaluate her skull is tough. I don't feel anything but that doesn't mean much.

I bought a BCM cockerel and got an Isbar cockerel. The lady I bought him from said she had a helper and the helper got some Isbars and BCM chicks mixed up. She surely did. I don't have a use for him. He is about 14 weeks old and is going to be so beautiful. Wish I could keep him. Free to good home. Newman, Ca. is the location for pickup. Kern
