On the Farms where I have seen cats living outside, they would usually hang out in the barn. Every un neutered male we had growing up went wild within 4 or 5 years and lived out in the field. That usually lasted for several years before a hunter killed them. It would be best if you had them spayed and neutered though. You would be over run with cats very quickly if you don't.

If you call the post office, they can give you real tracking for your chicken order.

Bye,

Is definitely appreciate that Ron. The micr have been hitting the feeders hard. And I caught 2 in the house. Had to stop leaving the doggy door open. How do cats do outside full time? I've always had allergies so they really have to stay outside.
Thanks for the tip. I was wondering about that. So they just try to load them up on fluids before shipments or something. Or do they have some like gro gel stuff for shipping older chickens?
Hopefully they put oranges is there. That is what they did for me

I took some pictures of the TJ chicks I hatched that have been keeping my Basque chick company. The Basque is going to have a very pretty pattern. She is kind of ugly now.

I think one of the TJs chicks is a pullet and the other is a boy. One has a tail and the other is just starting to get one. The one with the short tail is wider and has a larger comb already.

I might keep the pullet if she is one. I only have one white egg layer at present.

I see a bunch of feathers too--someone must be molting....

cute

If you want mousers I'd go for rehomed semi ferals over kittens. There are always organisations rehoming cats from colonies that have been Abandoned. Barns are perfect for them.

If you can't find one in your area contact iitty bitty orphan kitty rescue. Laurie knows everyone. Make sure to tell them you intend to take care of the cats and feed them. A lot of people don't feed them thinking that makes them hunt and they starve to death. So the organizations are paranoid.

Thank you for the lead! Ill get the number and call them first thing I'm the morning. Are they a local rescue organization?

I don't believe in animal abuse of any kind. Even though my allergies don't tolerate house cats, they are still good in my book. Especially since I have a use for them now!

I appreciate that Chiqita! :D

I didn't think that there were weasels here. I looked it up and it says status unknown. I hope there aren't weasels around! Mink is also on the list and it says uncommon. Two critters that I'd rather not see. At least something is eating whatever it is with those nasty teeth.

Thank you for letting me know. I need to reinforce some areas on the coops if there are weasels around.

looked it up where? my field guides are at school, but i'm pretty sure weasels are not-super-common but present almost anywhere in non-urban areas in the west... google "weasel skull" and look at the images, it looks pretty similar...

they're beautiful creatures & do a great job at controlling rodent populations -- so rather like the gopher snake a few days ago, while yes they can take chicks, they're still good critters to have around.

and just for the heck of it -- this evening's cuteness:
