Can anyone tell me who you contact to find out if you can keep roosters? We live in redding but since we are on the outskirts it's considered county and not city. When I look up info I can only find the laws for city of redding.

It depends on the zone that you live in. That will be on a count map along with what is allowed in the zone.

Go Here: http://www.co.shasta.ca.us/index/gis_index.aspx

Find your place and then click on the zoning information. You have to zoom in. Most places around Redding are Rural Resisential. 25 chickens are allowed--does not specify cock or hen so you should be safe.

On Prime Day I picked up a 13.6 inch convertible HP laptop for $350.00. A brand new Samsung costs over $600.00.

Look for a nice refurbished laptop. Phones are not computers...yet...One day they will be close but the screen is too small for things like word processing. If you have children, a computer will be necessary for them in school.

Like I posted, almost the entire county around Redding is ok for chickens. Are you near Palo cedro?

Yes actually I used to work in Palo cedro. We live near airport and dersch rd. We just bought a house here a few years ago. I know neighbors keep roosters because I can hear them. So I assume it's ok. Hopefully lol. As for the desktop top we have kept them for years. I used to prefer them. Over the years we just never use them. I think I actually have a like 500 dollar laptop around here somewhere. It was collecting dust so we stored it away somewhere. As for the kids they aren't allowed to use the Internet yet. We are very strict when it comes to technology. We don't even have cable anymore. My husband and I both felt it was rotting the kids brains. They do use Google Chrome on my phone when we have school projects and such. They are both working hard right now to earn the money for a phone lol. It's good for them though. :)
