California - Northern

It's not so much about a map.....When you drive north on the 101 there's a moment when the air changes, the trees go from golden spread out oaks to those dark dense forests....the cars change to trucks, everything slows down, you stop hearing top 20 on people's radios and you start hearing George and Hank. Nor Cal is a feeling and it feels pretty damn good!

It is good to see you here!

California is a very diverse state for sure

Someone has apparently called the city on “my” roosters (we don’t have any!). Meanwhile the neighbor’s multiple roosters continue to crow. I just can’t deal with this now — there is a huge amount else going on as well, so I’ve decided it’s time to just find them new homes. I’ve posted in the rehoming section, but wanted to link it here also.

And smell of skunk weed fills the air, lol

I feel like there should be a bay area one. I know technically it is northern California, but never felt that when I grew up there. It was just the bay.
There is one for the Bay area!

A southern ca thread

and the whole state of Ca: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/california-the-whole-state-thread.565482/#post-7302044

They do not have much activity though

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having issues with animal control. I’m in Sacramento County and we are allowed to have roosters and I still stress about it. I have one rooster and he crows during decent hours of the day, but one annoyed neighbor is all it takes. I hope you’re able to find a good solution! I love my boy and my daughter would be heartbroken if we had to rehome him 😢 He’s such a good boy ❤️
