Oh and 2 months old IS old enough to know. Listen to their quacking. Females are loud and obnoxious. Males have a soft whaaa whaaaa sound, females loudly yell quack quack quack. I was able to tell by 7 weeks. :D By 16-18 weeks their drake curls are in.

Well that is good news! I hope they are all girls so I don't have to eat them :)

In other news, I let the remaining birds out of the barn for the first time since the massacre on Sunday. I named them Cora and Hawkeye after characters in the Last of the Mohicans. They went straight for the younger birds in the dog kennel. I thought it was sweet and hopefully the introduction will go smoothly.

Yay! Looks good! I hope they get along wonderfully!

Yeah, My new Sulmtaler rooster arrived from Arizona today. He looks happy and healthy.

I was up most of the night worrying about him. First time I've ever had an adult bird shipped and it was a breeze. I got a call from the PO at 6am and ran down to get him. I am beyond thrilled.

Congrats!! I've never seen a Sulmtaler. (truthfully, never even heard of one!)
