What does SOP mean? Show quality? Heaven Sent Ranch has some. I got mine from her and they are drop dead gorgeous. Giant and fluffy.
Ron beat me to it.........Standard of Perfection. It isn't that I need them to be perfect, really, but on the Buff Orpington thread people advised me to only get a SOP Buff Orpington rooster if I get a rooster. When I started looking, I was surprised that hardly anyone sells SOP BO's....not even hatching eggs on here.
My BO hen (Buffy) is just lovely in my opinion and she's just from the local feed store. We love her gentle nature and think she's pretty. I'll be curious if your BO's go broody as much as my Buffy has. She's been broody about 5X this year and it gets annoying sometimes.

You might also check with Karen Thomas / sewandgrow here on BYC. She has some stunning BOs and she is in Turlock, not overly far from you.

thank you. Molly you should try some of these guys. You are in a similar boat with predators. they are super alert. Matter of fact My White Emp's are hands down the most alert Chicken I have ever seen. probably because they are a  white breed of chicken and need to be.
they see the hawks before the hawks see them. It is really amazing how alert they are.

Sounds like a plan....I love the fact they are very alert.. That is very important around here.:)

I did have my incubators put away but am so happy to have them going again! I should pack them back up after these hatche, but the New Years Day Hatch is coming up and I am getting more Heritage RIRs from Ron Fogelly in January. They will be F-4s and he said they will be even better.

Ron

OMG, I love your Hatitage RIRs... That is something I would like to add to my little chicken Farm..;) very exciting Ron.
