Wow serious eye candy!

Mine did not take to the nipples so I replaced it with and

I plan on putting the nipple one on to the outside of the coop soon and let them figure out how to use it. The gqf fountain bowl has to be cleaned out every 5 days or so, but like you are finding out, none of the water systems are completely work free.

Mine totally are drinking from the fountain and I have one chicken acting a little low. Now I know why. Geez. I really 'assumed' it would stay clean! ahhh!

I am going to go bonkers. The fancy new auto waterer/fountain we bought this summer? Has mildew IN it. I have been putting ACV in it. You can even smell it slightly. I am going crazy. How would mold even get in there? IN the water around the sides? It doesn't need to be messed with or anything. I am really frustrated. I bought it avoid this problem. I am back to bucket waterers. Maybe simple is best.

Ron how is yours doing?

I don't have an auto system, i just have a bucket with the little nipple thingys on the bottom -- and if i don't change the water every 4 or 5 days, even with ACV in it, it definitely starts some kind of something growing in there -- not sure if it's mold or algae, but it requires scrubbing out before the next refill.

I have had many broodies and a few I let raise babies. They have all been fabulous Moms. We just butchered 26 Euskal Oiloa Roos this weekend and they averaged 4-5 lbs at 20- 25 weeks. I roasted two and the meat was perfect! Tender and full of flavour. Not tough and not.... Squishy like grocery store Frankenchicken
